Chapter Twelve
Back in Aq'Qallat Benin draws elaborate plans for civil works, and corresponds with Zhahenin. A Steward is to be recruited and Rock Oil to be sent for.
Drained of the magical energies and with two Magi unconscious, the heroes battle on, attempting to dispatch one downed troll into the afterlife through effective use of manpower and archers. However, just as the men begin to rally, one troll sucks the eyes from the head of the light-blinded troll and with it's eyes regenerating, the two turn on the forces of the Turkhanate. Appalled at the depravity of these beasts, the group makes a tactical withdrawal. Content with the losses they have inflicted upon the inhabitants of Trollmouth Caverns even if these losses came at the cost of six valliant Turkhanate soldiers.
The group ride through the night back to Baranul'an where they rest for a week before retiring to Aq'Qallat.
The Constellation of Illmanar then spends two weeks helping Benin with his civil planning and set to training the men through light drilling and a regime of rest and morale-building. The greatest boost to morale comes in the shape of Rabaht and his long-awaited reinforcements. 15 of these fresh footmen are dispatched to each of the Turkhanate villages while the group's Janissary is set to beating out paths between the towns. The decision is made that the villagers much be encouraged to trade and marry between each other and a harvest festival is announced as a result.
As Hamar Ant-Slayer formalises the Knights of Ilmanar, rumours start to filter in from Sanuddar that there are orcs and trolls in the hills. The group set off with a force of footmen and patrol the hills for a week, picking off orcs through careful application of light arrows and fireball spells. However, the group quickly realise that they will not rid their lands of these inhuman fiends by using these hit and run tactics. The only solution is to strike straight to the heart of the matter. The group must return to Trollmouth Caverns and burn them clean.
Putting together a force of 100 heavy footmen and 50 archers, the group set off.
